SATURDAY TRAILS WITH MUDDY SHOES!!!

Hey Tree Slappers, Rock Kickers and other assorted Trail Riff-Raff,

Ready for some Forest Therapy? Well, better late than never, Saturday Trails with Muddy Shoes begin this Saturday! We’re getting off to a late start this year but nonetheless, here we are.

Thanks for all the guesses as to where the first run was/is going to be held. Some of you were spot on; others…not so much. The correct answer, as to the location of the first run is…(drum roll, please)…MEADOWSIDE! Hint: I’m a creature of habit. This is and has been the first run. EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.

So, let’s talk about the run. Meadowside/Lake Frank is an awesome place for trails. There’s a boat load of trails to choose from. If you like hills, we got that; if you like flatter terrain, we got that; if you want some nature, definitely got that and if you are interested in local history, we got that too!

Regarding nature, well first off, you’re in the woods to begin with, so, there’s that. But specifically, we all love the Bald Eagle nest that has been there forever. Might not get too good a view because of the leaves but when you can see them it’s awesome. Historical stuff – there’s the Pioneer Village, the Valient Covered Bridge, the Prather Cemetery and also the actual ruins of Muncaster Mill. Oh, and can’t forget the Race Car of the Woods out on the North Branch Trail. We got something for everybody here!
