There will be some humidity too so load up on water and electrolytes for this run on the trails of lower Rock Creek. Two lollipop loops will get you in the 14-ish mileage range in your training for HEAT.

MyMuddyShoes Summer Training Run #6 – Muddy Branch Trail @ Blockhouse Point 7:30AM

Hi MuddyBuddies –
We are running the Muddy Branch Trail tomorrow morning but starting from a new location – Blockhouse Point Conservation Park.   It’s the parking log that you run through at River Rd on the Muddy Branch Trail so it will be familiar to most of us who have run this trail before.   Coach Mike Edwards will be leading you all on an out and back to Rt 28 which should get you 16ish miles, as the schedule calls for.  You can check out the map below for more details – i’d also suggest bookmarking the map as there are LOTS of side trails the further north you go on this trail so it will help you navigate back if you make a wrong turn.  There will be water at the Rt 28 turn around and I’ll have the usual water, fruit & snax for after the run – but as usual, if you will be out longer than 4 hours mark on the sign-in sheet so we know what your plans are.

MyMuddyShoes Summer Training Run #5 – Black Hills 7:30AM

Hi hi MuddyShoesFolks!

We have another great run planned for this Saturday and we are now getting into some more summer like weather so make sure to plan for a hot and humid run.  I don’t know how hot or humid it will actually be, but we’ll have some water/fruit/snacks at the start/finish area by the parking lot so make sure to bring a bottle or hydration pack with you anyways.   The schedule calls for 15ish miles and I have put on the Caltopo map below 2 different out and back courses.  The Hoyles Mill out and back (blue line) is about 3.5 miles and the Cabin Branch/Hamilton/Hard Rock lollipop loop (red line) is about 4.6 miles.  You can mix up the routes, add more of the trails to your own plan but if you plan on going long or being out past 4 hours let us know on the sign in sheet.
Here are the details:

Tuesday Trail Parasite Run @ Needwood

Yeah, well, if you didn’t see the Trail Runners Are Parasites article here is a link https://www.outsideonline.com/…/trail-runners-are-lazy-para… Don’t even get me started! But I think if we all come out to Needwood on Tuesday we can infest the trails and spread our vibe amongst the single-track. And better yet we can infest the Outta the Way Cafe afterwards! At least until someone exterminates us but not before we spread a little plague!
