Tuesday Trails…Again! @ Redland M.S.

Yo Intrepid Trail Dogs,

No better night than tonight to mix it up on the trails of Redland…just like we do every other Tuesday! I’m starting to see a pattern! Tuesday rolls around and a bunch of us meet at Redland Middle School and run…in the dark…with headlamps…and its a blast. So why break the pattern. No reason to and I’m a creature of habit…although my wife thinks I’m just a creature WITH habits…not too socially redeeming, I might add…but I digress. Either way, we run Redland tonight. Temps will be tolerable, we’ll be ahead of the precipitation and the trails should be accommodating (I don’t know what the hell that means but it sounds goods…never a bad thing to be accommodated.)

Details, shme-tails:

Address: Redland Middle School, 6505 Muncaster Mill Road, Derwood, MD 20855 (Park around back on right side of school)
Coordinates: 39.140327, -77.131554
Time: 6:30 (6:15 warm up)
Course: Redland Trail (upper and lower) Counter-Clock wise (lower trail first)
Distance with warm-up ~5 miles

So, C U there!
Cheers,
Muddy Shoes

Tuesday Night Cold Snap Trail Run @ Redland MS 6:30pm

Is everyone ready for a run that doesn’t sting your face when you run?  The forecast is about 37 degrees w/ very little winds & clear skies.  Quite the change from the past 2 weeks.  I read that yesterday was the first day above 35 since Christmas.

So with all of the feel goods about a bit warmer air let’s go running!

First Tuesday Run of 2018! Redland M.S.

New Year. New Fat. New Frigid Temps. Maybe some new running gear from Santa? We’ll be back out on the Trails of Redland tonight building up body heat and possibly even a drop of sweat or two. Its possible. Even in these frigid temps. I know I have a little extra insulation from all the bad food (bad = delicious) and libations I indulged in that needs to be deleted. So I will be working to rid myself of that.

Bring your headlamps and dress appropriately but keep in mind you will work up some heat.

Tuesday Naughty or Nice Evening Trails @ Redland M.S.

Well, many things are upon us. The holidays. The frigid cold. The shorter days. Static electricity (dontcha hate that?). All these things cause stress. Could probably throw in a few other things as well. But!….and its a big but….(not in reference to anyone’s anatomy, of course…althooooough…nope. not goin’ there) but we still have trails! What better way to burn off calories and anxiety before you burn out than hittin’ the trails with us? Yup, its Tuesday and that means we run. It WILL be cold tonight. Cold fronts movin’ in by run time. Dress appropriately. Afterwards we will warm up at the Outta the Way Café and talk about who has been naughty or nice!

Tuesday Trail Moistness @ Redland M.S. – Best Weather Evah!

Yo Muddy Shuckers,

Rain predicted! Might have to strap on those galoshes tonight if the weatherman is right but that just makes it more fun. It will also make you more of a bad-ass, stinkin’ trail dog. Just think, while everyone else is tucked up in their cozy, warm houses, all dry and soft, just sittin’ there getting weaker by the minute, you, my foul-mouthed friends, will be out there tearing through the woods of Redland getting tougher and tougher with every step. Guaranteed…or no money back. So, here’s my take on adverse weather – if you are training for an endurance event – road or trail – you need to be prepared for almost anything that can happen on race day. That includes the weather. Mother Nature is not always cooperative, especially in the Winter. So what you will experience on race day is up in the air…no pun intended….well, OK, all of my puns are intentional, but I digress. Running in adverse conditions is a great way to prepare for the worst. So if you have been training in the rain, snow, cold and you get to the starting line and its rainy, snowy or cold you can look around at the other sorry-ass runners who stayed inside all Winter and mutter under your Gatorade-laced breath, ‘Been there, ran this, bring it on, I got this!’ So I WILL plan on seeing ya’ll this evening, no matter the weather, right?

Tuesday Evening Low-Calorie Trails – Redland M.S.

Hey there, Trailies.
What’s that I smell on your breath? Mashed Potatoes? Punkin’ Pie? Giblets? Anyway, why would I want to be smellin’ your breath anyway. The fact is we are in a high-caloric intake time of year. No doubt we all got those muffin tops or dunlops (ya know, yer belly dun lopped over yer belt!?) developing as we munch our way through the holidays. No better way to push back on that than pushin’ back from the holiday buffet table. But we all know that ain’t gonna happen soooooo…….we run…trails…at night! We do this every Tuesday. Rain or shine (well, moon shine anyway), warm or cold, we’ll be out there hittin the single-track of Redland. You can too! Here are the details:
Address: Redland Middle School, 6505 Muncaster Mill Road, Derwood, MD 20855 (Park around back on right side of school)
Coordinates: 39.140327, -77.131554
