Trail Doggies!

Let’s get this run IN!!! Weather forecast has temps dropping a bit by run time (still hot!) but also, a chance of thunderstorms. Hopefully, we should be able to squeak this one in after two weeks of cancellations. Keep your fingers crossed!  And don’t forget, this is 2^nd Tuesday of the month – Outta The Way Café Night! After the run we’ll mosey on over to our favorite post-run watering hole for a little recuperation, camaraderie, and chow.

Location: Lake Needwood

Address: 15679 Needwood Lake Cir, Derwood, MD 20855

Time: Warm up at 6 p.m. Run starts at 6:15

Course: Counter-Clockwise up Needwood Trail and over to Blue Jay Loop. Pick up Needwood Trail right past Archery Range to a fairly quick right onto Mudcat. Take this out to park entrance. Cross Needwood  Road and do out-n-back on Beaver Tale (aka Upper Rock Creek). Continue across lake on Needwood Road and go left onto Westside Trail. Go down west side of lake. Hill repeats on Adie’s Hill then across dam and back to Parking lot.

Distance: 5.5-ish miles with warm-up (feel free to do shorter or longer)

Pace: Fast, slow and in-between
