Wassup, Trail Dogs!

Notice that I used an exclamation point instead of a question mark? That’s cuz it was more of a greeting – a shout out – a ‘Hello’ of sorts. Punctuation is over-rated anyway. Anyway, I digress. What I’m here to tell ya about is the Muddy Shoes Tuesday Evening Trail run. It’s not to be missed! The surprise snow will be gone but maybe not the mud. I was out there Monday, and the trails will have some slick spots but generally they are in good shape and clear. So, grab your headlamp, tie on your trailies and c’mon out and join us!

BTW, I want to welcome any newbies from the Winter Trail Program (Woot! Woot!) who might wander over and check out night trail running. It. Is. A. Blast! Not as much scenery as during the day but you have the exhilaration of being out in the woods hitting the trails at night with your trail buds while most folks are stuck inside their cozy houses. You get some bad-ass bragging rights in there somewhere!

Oh, and BTW, this is the second Tuesday of the month which means, as tradition has it, we head over to the Outta the Way Café post-run for some good food and drink and, most of all, a table full of people that just want to talk about trail running. Then we all go home. Easy-peezy! NOTE: Please bring clean footwear to change into so we don’t trash the dining room too bad.

Time: Warm Up 6 p.m. Main event 6:15

Course: Clockwise (Upper Trail first) For newbies, the trailhead is to the right of the backstop (Go to back parking lot on right side of school.) Take this connector trail ~.15 miles to intersection with main trail and go left.

Distance: 5 miles with warm up, 4.3 without.

Pace: You pick. We have all paces, including walkers.

Vibe: M-e-l-l-o-w. This is not a race.
