TUESDAY TRAILS CANCELLED. TRAILS STILL NOT RUNNABLE.

Hey Folks,

Sorry for the late announcement but I wanted to wait as long as I could to see if the above-freezing temps would help trail conditions. Unfortunately, they have not. In fact, the slight melt and re-freeze last night might have made it worse. So, we are cancelled again this evening. Very sorry.

I just reconnoitered the Needwood and Redland trails and they are still not safe (i.e. treacherous) for even walking much less running. I hiked about 50 feet down Redland trail and had to grab small trees to keep from sliding. The snow pack is still hard enough that you don’t break through which makes the places where folks have walked and kicked up those ‘snow-crete’ blocks impassable (the blocks are encrusted in ice).

Next Tuesday I will be far, far away so you will be on your own. I hope things melt enough by then since warmer temps are predicted.
