LAST SATURDAY MUDDY SHOES RUN OF 2025!
Hey There Muddy Minions,
Welcome to our last Saturday Muddy Shoes event of 2025! It’s been one heck of a year. Many of you trained your asses off for a lot of different events. Some were successful, others had some, shall we say, learning experiences. Then there were those who just came out to pound single-track form the fun of it or get in a little forest therapy (Oohhhhmmmmm!). But, all in all, things turned out AOK. Once again, we had a 100% survival rate!
Couple of data points:
- We like to keep things small and laid back on Saturdays, but we still had an overall average attendance rate of 22.5 runners per meet-up excluding our larger events (Yes, I actually kept stats!) I still haven’t figured out what a .5 runner looks like and am not anxious to find out!
- All told, between our first Saturday in April (remember the bald eagle nest and hidden cemetery?) through this weekend we convened on 34 separate Saturdays. That’s a lot!
- Tucked inside those 34 Saturdays we had some special Muddy Shoes events that many of you participated in, one way or another. These included: The 14th AnnualFarm Park Challenge, The Groovin’ Woodstock 7k, The Summer Phat Ass, the four Stone Mill Course Preview runs, the 11th Annual Phantastic Phall Phat Ass and the Stone Mill Aid Station @ Pennyfield Lock! We have been busy!
So, for our last Saturday we’re headed over to one of our tried-and-true venues to do a big loop-de-loop. We’ll meet at Riffle Ford Road and head down the Seneca Greenway to Black Rock Mill and then back up the other side on the Seneca Ridge Trail. The latter part might bring some PTSD (Post Trail Stress Disorder) for any Stone Millers but you can work through it!
Weather peeps are forecasting a small bit of snow on Friday, but roads should be fine by Saturday morning but it will be c-o-l-d! Upper 20s but no wind. Dress appropriately (layers) and have a warm coat back in your car.
Ok, couple of announcements:
