SATURDAY TRAIL RUN WITH MUDDY SHOES
Hey There, Trail Doggies (and Cats, if that’s your thing. Hamsters too, I guess),
Time to hit the trails with the Muddy Shoes crew on Saturdays! Whether you’re continuing from Winter Trails, training for an event or just looking to be out with friends again on the single track we’ll be there for you Spring, Summer and Fall. This will be our 11th year pounding the dirt in MoCo! Can ya believe it?
So, here’s the deal. Every Saturday morning we’ll meet up at a different trailhead here in MoCo for a trail run. We’ll have snacks and cold beverages waiting at the end as well as H2O out on the trail. Cost is $0 (very affordable!) but we have an awesome donation box where you can deposit a portion of your life savings or rent money to keep us going! (sorry, no crypto) Your donation also helps make sure we don’t make fun of how you look when you run…at least not to your face! We also hold several trail events over the Summer and into the Fall including the Farm Park Challenge (May 3rd), a couple of Fat (Phat) Ass Runs (July and November) and the Stone Mill training runs (October).
OK, enough blah, blah. Let’s talk details for this Saturday.
Our first run is a Muddy Shoes tradition. It’s called the Eagle Spotting run. We’ll meet at Meadowside Nature Center in Derwood. As a group we’ll go real slow the first mile or so and we’ll tour the historical sites including the Pioneer Village, the Valient Covered Bridge, the lost Cemetery and finish up with a visit to the Bald Eagle nest to hopefully see some eagles there. I saw them three weeks ago so they are nesting. After that, folks can take off on their own to finish the course.
