Howdy, Trail Joggers!

I hope Spring finds you well. I know it’s making the trails come alive. And ya gotta love that pollen! Good thing we went through snot rocket training so ya’ll can clear your nostrils without breaking your pace! But the landscape is starting to come alive and we are heading in to nicer weather. No reason to NOT be out there with us in the Forests of Redland. No, family and work do not count as reasons to not be here. They are reasons TO be out here. If anyone needs to have a running vs. family/job priority talk, I’m available to set you straight. Let me know. I can be very convincing!

However, first, we must go forest jogging today!

As usual, announcements, then details:

  • Hey, did I mention that this March is the 10 year anniversary of Muddy Shoes? Yup, ten years ago we had our first run. Can anybody guess where it was? Free Muddy Shoes sticker for the correct answer. It was on Tuesday March 25th and it was 5.02 miles long. Attendees were myself and 7 other folks. See if you can guess.Anyway, we will be getting some commemorative swag to celebrate. Stay tuned. T-shirts maybe?!
  • HEY YOU!!!! Registration is open for the 13th Annual Farm Park Challenge Endurance Event and Marathon. Mark your calendars for May 4th (go ahead and say it, you Star Wars freaks – May the 4th be with you!)! Located in the center of Montgomery County at the Agricultural Farm Park in the budding metropolis of Derwood! Pick your poison – 3 hour, 6 hour or 10 hour trail challenges or the marathon. Race day volunteers are also needed. It’s always been a great day to come run and hang out at a beautiful venue with some of your filthiest trails buds. More info on registering to run or volunteer here http://farmparkchallenge.com/
  • Mark your calendars! Muddy Shoes Saturday Trail Series starts April 6th! We pick up where the Winter Trail Program leaves off. Regular Saturday runs that take us to trails and venues that you might not have seen in a larger group. We also provide after-run refreshments (remember ice cold mini-Cokes and pickle chips?) and chit-chat. Mingle with your trail besties! Keep an eye out for details as we get closer to the date.
  • We have swag! Muddy Shoes Baseball caps (a mere $15), Buffs ($10) and Reusable Cups ($5). See Coach Phil or Coach Mike (Chau)
