It’s time to get ready for the 3rd Phat Cat! This is a fun run to mix things up a celebrate the beginning of fall. This year we doing the same route as 2018. This route is actually the Patapsco Trail Junkies “Junkie Challenge #2” in reverse. Even though the challenge is only 11ish miles it is one of the toughest trail running stretches in the state of Maryland. Along the route you will experience four (yep you heard it FOUR) big steep climbs with stream crossings and ROCKS.
We will park at the Gambrill Park Trailhead and run 6ish miles following the blue blazes to the turn around at Hamburg Road. Please carpool if you can.. the parking lot is small. I will have a bit of aid at Hamburg Road. If you are feeling ambitious keep going for a few more miles: the Catoctin trail is 26 miles one way and ends way, way north on Zion Rd. If you have never run the Catoctins please come, it’s beautiful, challenging fun!
